I first found about the Eating for Health model created by Dr. Ed Bauman in 1998 when I enrolled in Bauman College’s Nutrition Consultant training program. When I first understood it, I breathed a sigh of relief because it was not rigid or strict. In fact, it made the process of healthy eating feel like a learning adventure. Since then this model has been the backdrop to all of my nutrition counseling. It is non-dogmatic and can be adapted for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores, as well as those recovering from a wide variety of conditions. It is meant to be individualized so that each person feels engaged in their health journey, and on the road to their most vibrant self.
